A good share of what leaves this shop never appears on a product list. It is a vessel that had to fit an odd space, a part for a machine nobody supports any more, or an assembly that had to be built as one piece because there was no room to fit it together on site.

We strive to be creative here and nothing is too much to ask. Tell us a bit about the project and one of our production managers will get back to you — or call the shop directly and talk it through.

Consultations are free, and we will give you practical guidance on the application rather than just a price. If a stock tank off one of our charts would do the job for less money, we will tell you that too.

Capabilities

What we take on

The list below covers most of the custom work we quote. It is not exhaustive — if what you need is not here, ask.

  • Custom vessels and tanks

    Any of our tank types built to dimensions that are not on a chart — including shapes that have to fit a space nobody designed around them.

  • Replacement parts

    Components for equipment that is out of production or no longer supported. Send the old part or its dimensions and we will make a new one.

  • Assemblies and skids

    Vessels supplied complete with their stands, frames, legs, brackets and support structure, welded up as a unit.

  • Heat exchange coils

    Coils fabricated to your duty and mounted inside the tank on welded supports, so the coil actually fits the vessel it was drawn for.

  • Jackets and cladding

    Water jackets, dimple jacketing, insulated jackets and stainless cladding for temperature control and appearance.

  • Architectural and decorative work

    Doors, panels, counters and fixtures in stainless, including CNC-cut decorative detail where the piece is on show.

Custom does not just mean dimensions. These are the variables that get set on every job.
  • 304L standard or 316L on any part we make
  • Mill, Soft Swirl or High Luster exterior finish
  • Sanitary interior finish on request
  • Half couplings for outside connections, full couplings for inside and outside
  • Fitting sizes, styles and locations to your drawing
  • Legs, saddles, gussets, ring bases and full support frames
  • Insulated jackets, water jackets and cladding
  • Baffles, internal supports and mounting brackets

How a custom job runs

  1. 1Talk it throughCall or send a description. Free consultation, and we will tell you what information we still need rather than guessing at it.
  2. 2Send what you haveA drawing, a layout sheet, a sketch, a photo with a tape measure in it, or the original part. All of these are workable.
  3. 3We quote in writingMaterial grade, finish, fitting schedule and any test requirement confirmed before anything is cut.

Custom fabrication: common questions

Do you take one-off jobs, or only production runs?

Both. A single replacement part is normal work for us, and so is a batch. Custom shop-fabricated products and replacement parts have always been part of what this shop does.

I don't have a drawing. Can you still quote?

Usually. A sketch with dimensions, photographs of the part or the space, or the original component itself are all things we can work from. Consultations are free, so a phone call is often the fastest way to establish what is actually needed.

Can you replicate a part that is no longer manufactured?

That is a regular request. Send us the old part where you can — even a broken one — along with any dimensions you have. We fabricate replacement parts to order.

What materials do you work in?

Stainless steel is what we do. 304L is our standard grade and 316L is available. If your job needs a material we do not run, we will say so rather than substituting something and hoping.

Can you build a complete assembly, not just a vessel?

Yes. We regularly build the frame, stand, legs and framework alongside the vessel so the equipment arrives as one piece rather than as parts to be fitted on site.

How do you handle finish requirements?

We offer Mill, Soft Swirl and High Luster finishes, with a sanitary interior finish available on request. If a specification calls for something particular, note it on the quote request so we can confirm it before you order.
